Job Description: R&D Plasma Engineer Company Overview: We are a green energy deptech company dedicated to advancing the energy transition. Our work centers on producing decarbonized hydrogen through the plasmalysis of biomethane. Our solution is CO2-neutral, and by utilizing biomethane, we can generate hydrogen that is not only carbon-free but also CO2-negative. This technology offers an innovative and efficient method for capturing and reducing atmospheric CO2 by permanently storing it as solid carbon, making this sector a prime example of energy efficiency, circularity, and sustainability. Responsibilities: You will be responsible for conducting research, design, development, modification, and evaluation of microwave plasma technology to support the advancement of the microwave plasma reactor for methane decomposition. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary engineering design team, including electrical, mechanical, software, and process engineers, as well as technical support and suppliers, to design and modify both custom and standard system components. You will be tasked with preparing and analyzing test plans and procedures to ensure that all technical and operational requirements are met and effectively demonstrated. You will gather and analyze relevant materials and data in preparation for presentations at design, project, and program reviews. You will also be responsible for conducting literature reviews, preparing grant applications, writing reports, delivering technical presentations, and contributing to scientific dissemination, such as presenting at international conferences. Preferred Experience: 2+ years experience in general instrumentation, electronics, data acquisition, and data analysis in the field of novel microwave plasma sources. PhD degree in the field of plasma physics and/or plasma characterization. Experience with plasma systems, including plasma characterization techniques such as determining electron and ion energies and densities, as well as spectroscopy and characterizing plasma species. Proficiency in setting up and operating plasma systems, along with a broad range of material characterization and plasma diagnostics techniques. Solid experience with general instrumentation, including setting up sensors and control systems for pressure, temperature, and gas flow rate measurements. Experience or a strong foundational understanding of plasma processing, plasma sources like microwave, RF, or glow discharge plasma, and plasma loads is advantageous. Strong communication and presentation abilities. Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills. Ability to define functional requirements and perform effectively in a dynamic team environment.
